DOT Solvent Drum Approval
NORA members in good standing receive a special exemption (called an Approval) from its HAZMAT regulations. The Approval, which NORA first obtained for its members in 1996, allows drums of solvents (up to 30 gallons) to be shipped without being subject to a "leak-proofness test" provided certain conditions are met. Companies interested in this Approval should contact NORA.
