NORA Addresses Filter Manufacturers Council on Recycling Issues

NORA's Executive Director Scott Parker addressed the Filter Manufacturers Council (FMC) at their annual meeting on October 5, 2009 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
The meeting was attended by most of the leading filter manufacturers from around the world.
The long-standing partnership between FMC and NORA is important for both parties. NORA benefits from having information it can provide to members about trends in the filter market. FMC and its members are very interested in having an environmentally responsible industry that will handle their products after they have been used.
NORA addressed the status of the used oil filter market, the association's position on how to used oil filters should be managed as well as promoting the concept of "design for recycling" when new filters are being designed. NORA and FMC also began to build the framework for compiling a database of all state laws related to used oil filter management.
