Buying Re-Refined Lubricants

Almost all lubricating products are made from a blend of different base oils and chemical additives that enhance the performance properties of the base oils. To avoid misleading consumers, NORA recommends that only lubricant products that contain at least 50% re-refined base oil should be labeled and marketed as "re-refined.”
