About the Hotel and Area:

Salt Lake City is the ideal jumping-off point for adventure travel, winter sports and scenic drives. Strikingly framed by mountains and desert, Salt Lake City is nestled between the Great Salt Lake to the west and the Wasatch Mountains to the east, at an elevation of 4,330 feet. Just ten minutes from Salt Lake International Airport, the city hosts a vibrant artistic and cultural scene. The city offers many nightclubs and bars including dance clubs, sports bars, comedy clubs, brew pubs, martini bars, and live jazz. All of Utah's bars, nightclubs, and restaurants are smoke-free and getting a drink is now as easy as simply ordering one, thanks to Utah's new streamlined liquor laws - no more "private club" memberships required.

There's no shortage of things to do in Salt Lake City, and the broad streets, green spaces, easy-to-master street plan, and central urban light rail have created an exceptionally accessible city. The Grand America Hotel is the only Five Diamond Hotel in Salt Lake City. Built for the 2002 Winter Olympics and set in the heart of a spectacular valley, surrounded by majestic mountain ranges and stunning views, yet 10 minutes away from Salt Lake International Airport and within walking distance of downtown, The Grand America Hotel offers inspiring experiences sure to make the 2012 NORA Winter Meeting a memorable event.

Salt Lake City International Airport is a Delta Air Lines Hub with over 78,000 seats on more than 900 flights daily. But unlike many metropolitan areas, the Salt Lake airport is located just ten minutes from downtown, so there is little time wasted in a cab or shuttle ride to the hotel. The Grand America is located in the heart of the city within the public transit "free fare zone." Guests can travel throughout downtown on TRAX Light Rail or city bus without charge. Taxis and limousines are readily available from the concierge.
