NORA Representatives and Senator Tom Udall's Staff Meet in Washington, D.C. to Promote TSCA/PCB Reform

Gainesville, Virginia – (September 11, 2013) – On September 9th, 2013, NORA representatives Scott D. Parker, Jack Waggener, and Steve Shimberg met with Jonathan Black, Senior Policy Advisor for Senator Tom Udall (D-New Mexico) and a member of the Committee of Environment & Public Works, in Washington, DC. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss TSCA Reform regulations currently moving through Congress.

Initial TSCA reform legislation was introduced earlier this year by Republican Senator David Vitter and Democratic Senator Frank Lautenberg.  However, in June 2013, Senator Lautenberg passed away.  Senator Udall will be instrumental as TSCA Reform legislation proceeds through the U.S. Senate.

"NORA is actively engaged with the PCB/TSCA Reform efforts in Washington, DC," said Scott D. Parker, NORA Executive Director.  "We thank Senator Udall for taking the time to meet with us regarding this important reform effort as it relates to the members of NORA."

NORA relies on member contributions to financially support this reform project.  If you are interested in making a donation, you can do so online by clicking here or you can use the printable form.

There will also be a presentation at the 2013 NORA Annual Recycling Conference and Trade Show, held November 13 - 16 in Carlsbad, California, on the topic of the PCB/TSCA Reform.  Steve Shimberg will give a more detailed update on the progress of this project.  If you are interested in this detailed report, click here to register for the Conference online or use the printable registration form.
